On the State Complexity of Semi-quantum Finite Automata

چکیده
Some of the most interesting and important results concerning quantum finite automata are those showing that they can recognize certain languages with (much) less resources than corresponding classical finite automata. This paper shows three results of such a type that are stronger in some sense than other ones because (a) they deal with models of quantum finite automata with very little quantumness (so-called semi-quantum oneand two-way finite automata); (b) differences, even comparing with probabilistic classical automata, are bigger than expected; (c) a trade-off between the number of classical and quantum basis states needed is demonstrated in one case and (d) languages (or the promise problem) used to show main results are very simple and often explored ones in automata theory or in communication complexity, with seemingly little structure that could be utilized.

Reduction of Computational Complexity in Finite State Automata Explosion of Networked System Diagnosis (RESEARCH NOTE)
This research puts forward rough finite state automata which have been represented by two variants of BDD called ROBDD and ZBDD. The proposed structures have been used in networked system diagnosis and can overcome cominatorial explosion. In implementation the CUDD - Colorado University Decision Diagrams package is used. A mathematical proof for claimed complexity are provided which shows ZBDD ...
متن کاملFrom Quantum Query Complexity to State Complexity
State complexity of quantum finite automata is one of the interesting topics in studying the power of quantum finite automata. It is therefore of importance to develop general methods how to show state succinctness results for quantum finite automata. One such method is presented and demonstrated in this paper. In particular, we show that state succinctness results can be derived out of query c...
متن کاملPower of the interactive proof systems with verifiers modeled by semi-quantum two-way finite automata
Interactive proof systems (IP) are very powerful – languages they can accept form exactly PSPACE. They represent also one of the very fundamental concepts of theoretical computing and a model of computation by interactions. One of the key players in IP are verifiers. In the original model of IP whose power is that of PSPACE, the only restriction on verifiers is that they work in randomized poly...

Physical limitations of Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductors (CMOS) technology at nanoscale and high cost of lithography have provided the platform for creating Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA)-based hardware. The QCA is a new technology that promises smaller, cheaper and faster electronic circuits, and has been regarded as an effective solution for scalability problems in CMOS technolog...
